  • Server's RO Browser bug/todo list (WIP)

    Hello everybody,

    Here you can find a nearly complete list of all the current issues with Ro Browser which will be fixed as soon as possible depending on our free time during the the weekends:


    - Critical:
    * Party Invite disconnects you randomly. Use the regular client to invite players to your party.
    * Char creation stats aren't saved so you get to distribute all your points(shouldn't happen)
    * Char deletion isn't working.
    * Find & fix why 3rd models can't be rendered like WoE flags, WoE guardians, Emperium & warp portal(skills and maps)
    * Most of non working skills are due to 3D Models effect missing in code.(all the data/db files are correct)
    * Can't see pushcart from Blacksmith & can't use Vending Skill.
    * Forging(Blacksmith: Ores and weapons/Crafting(Archer: arrows)
    * Animation delay can be bypassed to spam certain skills? I couldn't reproduce this myself.
    * Guild Skills not showing in window
    * Can't see Falcon from hunter but every skills work
    * Can't see ground effect skills such as traps, SW, ME, Sanctuary, Venom Dust, etc but they do work!


    - Critical but can wait until we update the server to Episode 7:
    * Client doesn't support any lua/lub files thus homunculus AI doesn't work at all (pet system works fine)
    * Cooking & Brewing(Alchemist: Making potions) systems

    - High:
    * All Weapons' SFX not working on hit.
    * Mace, Wand(rod is showing up), 2HS Lance & 2HS Sword display are missing.
    * Can't see Critical Hit sprite
    * Can't see Arrow Animation: The flying arrow animation is missing when attacking with bows
    * Can't select skill level. i.e: Get Heal level 10 and you can't select any level below to use as hotkeys
    * Can't snipe from cliff with Archer(maybe Mage too?) unless you move and click on the mob at the same time
    * Forged weapons: can't see forger's name nor element and have random items in card slots:
    Note: Upgrade Manteau = fire, Feral Tail = wind, Upgrade Hood = ice, Upgrade Muffler = earth


    - Medium:
    * The menu for configuring battlemode keys is missing
    * if you login your skills on your skillbar will be lvl 1
    * Can't use skills when you get resurrected, need to relog.
    * Movement from another player on your screen isn't in sync, need to @refresh
    * Kobold ID 1136 & 1137 show as dark chonchon due to missing sprites in GRF. These mobs were removed many years ago for an unknown reason.
    * No blind effect

    - Low:
    * Missing Cast target circle (effect 60)
    * Some skills might need to be cast twice to load their effect. Random monsters may have the same issue. Is there a way to force the browser to download more files from grf?
    * Invisible magnifier to display card illustration (top left corner of the card description)
    * Large Skill window tree view is missing
    * Monster/pet talk not showing up
    * Missing use skill effect stance(throwing his hand)
    * MvP kill effect & SFX missing
    * Aura level 99 doesn't show up.
    * Can't see chat on top of players.
    * Izlude, Morocc & Alberta mini-maps are incorrect while they are on the regular client. I'm still trying to figure out why and it's not a browser cache issue.
    * GM Broadcasts don't show on top of another client's but only in chat.
    Skills issues but damage/buff effects work:

    - Swordman/Knight:
    * SM_BASH: sfx working,sprite missing
    * SM_MAGNUM: sfx working,sprite missing
    * SM_ENDURE: sfx working,sprite missing
    * KN_TWOHANDQUICKEN: (sfx working, no yellow glow)
    * KN_BRANDISHSPEAR: Only skill effect on mobs, self is missing
    * KN_PIERCE: effect needs to be on self
    * KN_SPEARBOOMERANG: Lance throwing sprite missing
    * KN_SPEARSTAB: effect needs to be on self


    - Acolyte/Priest:
    * AL_INCAGI: sfx working,sprite missing
    * AL_DECAGI: sfx working,sprite missing
    * AL_BLESSING: sprite is down the feet, not above the head
    * AL_HEAL: no sprite
    * AL_RUWACH: no sfx/sprite
    * AL_WARPPORTAL: TP animation doesn't start, need to relog.
    * AL_ANGELUS: sprite should be in front of the player's head
    * PR_MAGNUS: ground effect missing (3D)
    * PR_SANCTUARY: ground effect missing (3D)
    * MG_SAFETYWALL: visual effect doesn't stay (3D)
    * PR_Redemptio: Couldn't make the skill work on client to test it.

    - Archer/Hunter:
    * Can't craft arrows. Need to implement craft system
    * Can't see Falcon but skill and auto attack work.
    * All traps work but don't have visual effect.
    * AC_DOUBLE: Need to trigger HIT SFX twice.
    * HT_BLITZBEAT: sfx & sprite missing
    * HT_DETECTING: sfx & sprite missing
    * HT_SPRINGTRAP: can't be tested as you can't see traps on the ground
    * HT_TALKIEBOX: Need to code chat box system.

    - Merchant/Blacksmith:
    * Cart doesn't show & cart item window doesn't show up. (alt+w)
    * Can't craft anything. Need to implement craft system
    * MC_VENDING: Doesn't display vending window.
    * BS_REPAIRWEAPON: Couldn't test yet, need a broken weapon.
    * BS_ADRENALINE: sfx & sprite missing
    * BS_OVERTHRUST: sfx working,sprite missing
    * BS_HAMMERFALL: sfx is matching .wav in data.grf but is different in normal client.
    * MC_CARTREVOLUTION: sfx missing (can't use the skill atm)
    * MC_LOUD: sfx missing.

    - Mage/Wizard:
    * All skills are missing "rod" sound on hit
    * All skills are missing casting effect (fire/ice/lightning)
    * Fire/ice bolts falling from sky effect missing.
    * Water hit effect not working (51)
    * MG_SAFETYWALL: visual effect doesn't stay (3D)
    * MG_ENERGYCOAT: Missing cloak effect
    * MG_SIGHT: No visual effect
    * MG_NAPALMBEAT: sfx working,sprite missing
    * MG_SOULSTRIKE: No visual effect and need to trigger SFX X time for each hits
    * MG_FROSTDIVER: sfx working, no travel & hit effect
    * MG_FIREBALL: sfx working, no travel & hit effect
    * MG_COLDBOLT: missing skill & hit effect
    * WZ_FROSTNOVA: sfx working, no hit effect
    * WZ_SIGHTBLASTER: No visual effect
    * WZ_SIGHTRASHER: No visual effect
    * WZ_ESTIMATION: Doesn't open up the Monster Info Window
    * WZ_WATERBALL: No visual effect or hit effect
    * WZ_EARTHSPIKE: No visual effect
    * WZ_HEAVENDRIVE: No visual effect
    * WZ_ICEWALL: No visual effect
    * WZ_JUPITEL: No throw effect


    - Thief/Assassin:
    * TF_STEAL: No visual effect
    * TF_HIDING: No visual effect (You can hide though)
    * TF_DETOXIFY: No visual effect
    * TF_THROWSTONE: No visual nor hit effect
    * AS_VENOMKNIFE: No visual nor hit effect
    * TF_SPRINKLESAND: No visual nor hit effect
    * AS_SONICBLOW: Animation only hits once, need to hit multiple times + effect 121 missing
    * AS_GRIMTOOTH: sfw working, no travel or hit effect
    * AS_POISONREACT: got the sound from Venom Dust
    * AS_VENOMDUST: Can't see ground effect
    * AS_SPLASHER: Can't see Envenom(poisoning) effect
    * AS_ENCHANTPOISON: sfw working, no poison bubble effect

    - Novice:
    * SK.NV_FIRSTAID isn't coded

    * Map window missing
    * Macro (Alt+M) window missing
    * Hovering over Base/Job EXP does not show information
    * Portal sprites are missing
    * When using Character Select after doing an action that activates the logout timer, the count down will always say 10 seconds: "Please wait 10 seconds before trying to log out."
    * Freebie NPC in Prontera's grammar
    * Skills cannot be removed from hotbar

    ---
    * Monster's sprite will sometimes not update if the character is on the same screen as their transformation
    Test Case(s):
    - Fabre transforming into a Pupa in Prontera's fields (prt_fild06) will not update its sprite, /swt2 still appears

    Temporary Solution(s):
    - Kill it anyways

    ---
    * Some attacks require another input to proceed
    Test Case(s):
    - In a memorable fight against the immovable Pupa, I instead had an intense staring contest
    - Another win for myself in a staring contest between myself and some porings

    Temporary Solution(s):
    - Wait for the monster to make an input (attacking, moving)
    - The player can move. The target will stay selected. The player will proceed to move back towards the target and start attacking
    - Casting a skill/spell may work, but I was a Novice at the time
    * Note: if BOTH the monster and player moves, the target will be de-selected

    ---
    * Rotating your character does not work (Shift+Left click). Sitting down to rotate works.
    May be a browser limitation
    Test Case(s):
    - Shift clicking to rotate your character will just move your character

    Temporary Solution(s):
    - Use /bingbing or /bangbang

    ---
    * Platinum skills will not appear until the Skill Tree (Alt+S) is "refreshed"
    Test Case(s):
    - Novice Platinum skill (First Aid) did not appear until I job changed to Merchant
    - Merchant's Platinum skills (Cart Revolution, Change Cart, Loud Exclamation) did not appear until I leveled Identify

    Temporary Solution(s):
    - Level a skill
    - Relogging may work
    - @refresh may work

    ---
    * Holding click to move does not work
    May be a browser limitation
    Temporary solution(s):
    - Keep clicking




    - Notes
    * Turning off /fog and zooming in may help increase frames for some people
    * Skills may not work after resizing browser (potions still work), Relogging (character select) will fix this
    * Not sure if it was a visual bug or not, Leveling to job 12 as a Merchant fully healed my character

      Writing from my phone so please have mercy xD

      *somewhat difficult to target monsters sometimes
      (Helps to hover the cursor a little below the actual monster model)
      *entering Morocc town from the right side makes you warp to a satan morocc map, happened to me once, didn't try to reproduce
      *I suggest changing the price for fire arrows in arrow shop to 3Z since you can purchase them for that price at sunken ship

          *MVP Stormy Knight in Toy Factory 2 is invisible, like literally, I died from a hit and then he spawned Christmas Goblins, still staying invisible
          *Mob Kobold (ID 1135 I think) has a wrong modell. It's a completely black Chonchon (check it out on gef_fild08)

            Thank you for the report. These 2 go to the display ID issue category. I'll have a look at SK ingame and as for Kobold ID 1136 & 1137 look like dark chonchon.
            Edit: SK is fine, some mobs might need @refresh or to reload the client. It rarely happens though.
            As for kobolds, their old sprites are missing so I'll try to find them and add them cause they were used in the past.

              I've noticed the same visual bug with Golden Thief Bug in Culverts 4. Just his minions were visible
